Drop #010

Storm of Abandonment

In this piece, the atmospheric nuances of Devin Lloyd hang like an unrelenting sky over a desolate parking lot, capturing the essence of a moment suspended in time. Interwoven, the specter of a militarized Washington Arch lurks in the background, hinting at a weighty dialogue on power and surveillance. All the while, the tension of a jaguars vs broncos matchup pulses through, stripped to mere symbols of competition and loss, adding layers to the frenetic composition.

The making

The image and the line are one reading of the day — not a caption of the news, a composition of it.

Everything moved at once. The marks came out fast.

The measurements chose gouache on a Ember ground, framed as layers.
